If you want to change the width of multiple columns or the height of multiple rows at once:

  1. Select the Multiple Columns or Rows:
    • For columns: Click and drag across multiple column letters to select them.
    • For rows: Click and drag across multiple row numbers to select them.
  2. Adjust the Width or Height:
    • Manually resize by dragging the edge of any selected column or row header.
    • Alternatively, right-click and use Column Width or Row Height to set a specific size for all selected columns or rows.

4. Tips for Adjusting Row Height and Column Width

  • Exact Measurement: Column width is measured in character units, with each unit representing the width of the number “0” in the default font. Row height is measured in points (1 point = 1/72 inch).
  • Fit Data: Use AutoFit when you want Excel to automatically adjust the row or column size to fit the content, such as text, numbers, or dates.
  • Visibility: If you have large data in a cell and it’s being cut off, increasing the column width or row height will ensure the full content is visible.

By adjusting the column width and row height in Excel, you can improve the layout of your data and ensure everything fits properly without unnecessary empty space.
