Make a worksheet fit the printed page
To make a worksheet fit on a printed page in Excel, you can scale it using built-in print options. Here’s how:
✅ Option 1: Use “Fit Sheet on One Page” (Quickest Method)
- Go to File → Print (or press Ctrl + P).
- Under Settings, click the dropdown that says No Scaling.
- Choose one of the following:
- Fit Sheet on One Page — shrinks everything to fit on one page.
- Fit All Columns on One Page — great for wide sheets.
- Fit All Rows on One Page — for long sheets.
- Check the Print Preview on the right.
- Click Print when ready.
✅ Option 2: Use Page Layout Settings
- Go to the Page Layout tab.
- In the Scale to Fit group:
- Set Width to
1 page - Set Height to
Automatic(or1 pageto force everything onto a single page)
- Set Width to
- Excel will automatically scale the sheet to fit when you print.
⚠️ Tip: Be Careful with Scaling
- If your sheet is very large, shrinking everything to one page might make the text too small.
- You can try adjusting column widths or changing the paper to Landscape Orientation to help.
