Print gridlines in a worksheet
To print gridlines in an Excel worksheet (so the cell outlines appear on paper), follow these steps:
✅ Steps to Print Gridlines:
- Open your worksheet.
- Go to the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon.
- In the Sheet Options group (usually on the right):
- Under Gridlines, check the Print box.
✅ Also make sure View is checked if you want to see them on screen.
- Now go to File → Print (or press Ctrl + P) to preview.
- You’ll see the gridlines appear in the print preview — you’re ready to print!
⚠️ Important Notes:
- Gridlines only print where cells have no fill color. If a cell has a background color (even white), gridlines won’t show.
- If you want more control over how the lines look, consider using borders instead (Home → Font Group → Borders).
